A Couple Dilemmas???
Potty training?? I've been and bought a potty yesterday after reading a book my MIL gave me, the book says to introduce the potty at about 9-12months. The reason i am thinking about this, I've seen recently a few of my friend really struggle as they have left it late, my friends little girl wont poo in her potty and is 2.5yrs old. When is best to start?? Should i buy another book? After asking my Mum turns out i was toilet trained by 18months and only had a nappy for bedtime. I am having to bigger expectations?? Is 18months plus more realistic?
Christy has made me think about this when looking at her blog. In 4weeks time it will be Billy's 1st Birthday, well i have a cake dilemma! Just looked up on the Internet first birthday cake ideas, the choices are Carrot Cake, Apple Swirl Cake or just my old time fav Nigella's Choco Fudge Cake (the one I've made loads of times and for everyones birthday) or a plain sponge? The point am getting to is that should it be healthy or sod it, feed him sugary junk food that one day??

How much can one boy get in his mouth???
He has pizza, cheese sandwich and potato wedges in there, i think he's gonna turn in to a hamster! Very strange combo!
Well his party is now booked, the ball pit/bouncy castle is booked. Roll on the 30th June!
He's been playing on the decking today and his knees, feet and hands were so dirty, his baby wash didn't get him clean, ended up using Mummy's shower gel! Good job he'd not been on the grass too - LOL. Oh forgetting we aren't allowed on the grass as Daddy has had the lawn doctor come and treat it! SADOOOOOO!

A big boyz lunch!
The picture is my friends little boy C and Billy enjoying tomato sausage and veg pancakes. It was like feeding time at the zoo. C had tomato sauce with his, quite amusing he's nearly 2.5yrs old and he kept saying "dip, dip, dip, dipping" and even when he'd still got some left "more dipping Mummy, more dipping Mummy" interpreted that means "more sauce please Mummy". Billy is just mesmerised by other children, he may have been staring but it didn't put him off his food!

What a crap Mummy today! Feeding him fish & chips!
On Wednesday night he woke up in the middle of the night and when i went in he was sat up as per usual, i tried for 20mins to get him to sleep and even resorted to rocking him, he was nearly asleep and i put him is his cot and he sat up again! By this point my patience had gone, i left him sat in his cot and went and got back in bed, we were listening to him crying and i asked my husband to leave him to cry because i knew he was dying to get up and cuddle him. We listened to him cry for what seemed forever but in reality it was 4mins and he went back to sleep in his own! First time ever, just to add i was only planning to leave him 5mins crying - not into controlled crying but i was knacked and fed up. RESULT!
How things can change over a few days!

What a little monster he's turning in to.......
Food - He will eat bread, pasta and generally any carbs but no chance with fruit and veg at the moment. I am getting rather fed up with making a meal and him hardly eating any. He has 3x7oz bottles per day. Breakfast, 2pm and bedtime. The last few days hes been eating less and less, 5oz breakfast, 2oz afternoon and 5oz bedtime, think i might just give in a drop the afternoon one off, think i don't like the change!
Mobility - He's off..... everything is now fair game, he will chase everything crawling. He's pulling him self up on everything and standing very easily but he forgets to hold on! He also now like to walk round with you holding his hands - poor Mummy and Daddy's backs hey. He can now get over the door step so need a gate for our back door! Couldn't find him this morning and his was hiding in the long curtains in our lounge, which he thought was very funny!
And he's also turning into a tele addict, don't want him watching too much. I know they say is not bad for children but i think in small doses is best. I've heard people comment that their child wont eat unless distracted by TV, i really don't want to end up in that situation.
Last night he was giggling like a proper little person, he couldn't stop, the type of giggle that hurts your tummy. Well it hurt Mummy and Daddy's laughing at him which just made the giggling worse - it really was fantastic! I'll post it if i can catch it!
He may be a little monster but he's a lovely monster!

Big boy spoon & fork - give me FOOD!
I gave him them to play with after his meal, don't think he actually ate anything from them. Grandma H has made us quiche for dinner, well his portion was about the size of a small adult and it went down a treat. Needed a little help as it was so crumbly, i wouldn't normally but he was getting very frustrated!

Gnocchi for Dinner
For tea Gnocchi (Italian potato dumplings) & Cheese sauce, he ate a stupid amount, oh and spread it in his hair and anywhere else his little paw landed (cheese sauce not fun to remove especially as i put half a block of cheese in!) Need to get more veg in his diet again - i do let it slip!
Clocks went forward last night by a hour so it'll be lighter at nights now, had about 4text messages reminding me this morning! Its not like last time they went back and i forgot! I got up early to go to the gym for 8am turns out i was actually there at 7am and it was a Sunday morning The Marriott Hotel wasn't even alive at that time never mind the gym!
Been that nice out today, in fact very sunny. Our lawns have been cut today, the lawn mower made Billy cry. He was very happy to stand on the window ledge and watch from inside though, oh and blow his cheeks up on my window and squash his nose on it! Lets hope he doesn't do that at Grandma H's she'd be gutted, her house is spotless!
